Today was an exciting day for an IT / computer geek like me. They finished the electrical rough-in. The two bundles of cable running in the basement say it all! There's so much Cat5e and RG-6 in this house that I could run a small business out of it. Connectivity will not be a problem.I've tried to think a little ahead by running Cat5 to an exterior soffit for a future external wireless access point. There's a Cat5/TV outlet on the porch in case you ever want a TV out there. And each of the bedrooms and the living room have an empty gang box with an empty conduit tube running to it for any future wiring needs, like fiber optic.
Just need to decide about speaker wire.
I'm happy. Finally, a wired house.
