Now you can almost see it...

Major change today - the front porch columns were added. We took a close look at the old photo of the house and couldn't see much about the old columns, except that they looked very simple. So we mimiced simple. The result showed up today, and I liked it! They took some pine 6x6 lumber and planed it down to a true 5" x 5" column, put a small plate on the bottom and top, and voila! Old looking column.

They've also been hard at work pulling down all the asphalt shingles on the old roof, and that process is finished now. One big problem is hopefully "fixed" too - the valley between the bathroom and bedroom. There was a cricket there, but it was prone to leaks and getting stopped up by leaves. That hopefully has been fixed with some substantial rebuilding.
